Evonik Industries sees research and development (R&D) as pivotal to the company’s future.
Our R&D activities are determined by the needs of the market. Where possible, we take customers’ requirements into account as soon as new products and applications are designed, especially in our Chemicals Business Area. Close collaboration with both universities and customers across all stages of development increase an innovation’s chances of success and shorten development cycles.
Our R&D efforts are aimed at maintaining and extending the technology leadership we
already possess in many areas of specialty chemicals and in power plant engineering. At the same
time, progress in terms of the quality of products and processes increases efficiency and helps
improve the value creation process, thereby securing our strong competitive position in the global
marketplace.
