Evonik defies adverse circumstances in the first quarter

Evonik achieved its operating profit target in the first three months of 2026 despite a very difficult business and economic environment. At €475 million, adjusted EBITDA slightly exceeded the company's earnings forecast of around €450 million.

Evonik strengthens biotechnology capabilities for drug substance manufacturing with new investment in Slovakia

Evonik is investing around EUR 80 million to expand its biotechnology capabilities at its Fermas site in Slovenská Ľupča, Slovakia. The investment will add state-of-the-art downstream fermentation technology to support the contract manufacturing services of the group’s drug substance business. The expansion will create approximately 50 new jobs at the site.

Contract of CEO extended, Chief Financial Officer appointed

Christian Kullmann will remain Chief Executive Officer of Evonik until 2030. That’s what the Supervisory Board agreed to at an extraordinary meeting today. It also appointed Michael Rauch as new Chief Financial Officer for the chemical company. Both decisions were taken unanimously.
