Spherical cobalt-molybdenum (CoMo) on activated alumina catalyst for use in Claus tail gas treating units that contain a hydrogenation/hydrolysis reactor (e.g. SCOT or LT-SCOT tail gas units). Designed for use in tail gas units with a reactor inlet temperature of at least 200 °C / 400 °F (low temperature units), but may also be used successfully in conventional tail gas units with reactors operated at higher temperature. Maxcel TGS-02 can be treated with actiCAT® TG presulfurization or UltraCAT® TG preactivation for simple and fast tail gas unit startup.

Further Information
Storage:
The material is stored in its original containers/packaging in a dry, covered location protected
from the ambient environment
• The material is protected from direct exposure to sunlight and rain (prolonged exposure to
direct sunlight may degrade the packaging)
• The material is not subjected to temperatures exceeding 450°F/230°C while in storage
• The material is stored elevated off the ground to ensure that there is no exposure to liquid
water
• Once the material is loaded into the vessel, a thorough nitrogen purge is recommended to
remove excessive free moisture
• Desiccant products intended for regenerative service will require a complete thermal
regeneration cycle (in TSA service) or several pressure swing cycles (in PSA service) before full
activity is restored
