SURFYNOL® 485 is a substrate wetting agent for waterborne systems with high solubility in aqueous systems. Surfynol 485 can also be used for its stabilization and emulsification properties.
It is a 100% active, liquid or low melting wax that contains no added alkylphenol ethoxylates (APEs) or hazardous air pollutants (HAPs). SURFYNOL® 485 surfactant complies with several regulations needed for applications requiring food contact compliances in the US, Europe and Asia.
Typical Applications
- Waterborne industrial coatings
- Waterborne internal can coatings
- Printing inks
- Adhesives
- Fountain solutions
- Latex dipping
- Agricultural chemicals
- Electroplating and acid pickling
Benefits at a glance
- Dynamic surface tension reduction
- Enables wetting of particles and substrates
- Relatively low foam compared to conventional surfactants
