Typical Applications
Pickling
For batch pickling in 10% HCl, use 1.5 lb. Tomamine Inhibitor 60S per 100 gallons acid to achieve 99.7% inhibition. If fasterspeed or less protection is desired, reduce level.
For pickling in 10% H2SO4, use 1 lb. Tomamine Inhibitor 60S surfactant per 100 gallons to achieve 98.0% protection.
After pickling, rinse and follow with an alkaline wash.
Tomamine Inhibitor 60S will not promote hydrogen embrittlement. It is soluble in high concentrations of ferric ions.
Industrial Cleaning
Use 1% Tomamine Inhibitor 60S surfactant based on 100% hydrochloric, sulfuric, acetic, phosphoric, or hydrofluoric acids.
Use 0.5% based on 100% oxalic, citric, or sulfamic acids.
Consumer Products
Use 0.1% Tomamine Inhibitor 60S surfactant in 9% HCl bowl cleaners. Use 1% in dark, 98% sulfuric acid drain openers.
NOTE: Do not use Tomamine Inhibitor 60S surfactant in formic acid or to protect galvanized metals or copper alloys.
