TEGOTEX® RT 1010 is a reactive organo-functional polysiloxane used as a hydrophobization agent in the leather industry. Due to the carboxy end groups TEGOTEX® RT 1010 can be used as a reactive component to modify bulk properties of polymers.
Typical Applications
TEGOTEX® RT 1010 is applied in the leather wet-process as a high-performance hydrophobizing component in post-tanning, dyeing or fat liquoring formulations for chrome tanned leather (wet blue). With the reaction of its carboxy functional groups TEGOTEX® RT 1010 can also be introduced permanently in suitable polymers.
