ACCUREL® DS 340 is a highly loaded “dry silane” concentrate of VTMO and a grafting-initiator, based on LLDPE. It is designed for the silan-crosslinking of polyethylene and ethylene copolymers in a two-step process like Sioplas®.
Typical Applications
ACCUREL® DS 340, allows the chemical grafting of polymers with vinyl silanes by simple extrusion to obtain a moisture curing compound. After the grafting, the compound can still be processed as a thermoplastic. The final crosslinking will take place only in presence of humidity. To accelerate the crosslinking, a catalyst like DBTL can be added separately. ACCUREL® DS 340 is used mainly to produce power cables in a two-step Sioplas-process.
