TEGOSTAB® B 8871 is a non‑hydrolysable polysiloxane polyether copolymer used as a silicone surfactant in rigid polyurethane foam production. It is suitable for continuous PIR panel and one‑component foam applications. The product provides strong emulsification and nucleation performance and can be used alone or in combination with other TEGOSTAB® surfactants depending on required stabilisation.
Typical Applications
- Can be used as the sole surfactant in PIR applications, leveraging its strong emulsification and nucleation properties
- Suitable as the sole surfactant in OCF applications and if additional cell opening is needed in OCF, it can be used together with a cell opener from the TEGOSTAB® or ORETGOL® product ranges
- When pre‑blending with other chemicals for polyurethane production, compatibility and stability tests are recommended as well as separate dosing and/or blending into the polyol is preferred.
