Daniela: Lifelong learning at business@school

As a coach at business@school, Daniela shows how lifelong learning can succeed. Students gain practical insights into the world of business and strengthen key skills for their professional lives.

What motivated you to become a business@school coach?

As a coach, I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with high school students, giving them practical insights into the business world and supporting them as they discover their potential and develop their own ideas.

business@school shows just how much more there is to a school project: a clear, handson view of the world of business and a genuine drive to further develop one’s own ideas and strengths. I found it exciting to be part of this together with the next generation.

What impressed you the most?

Even in Phase 1, I was surprised by the scope and depth of the initiative. Seeing high school students engage with demanding tools such as the SWOT analysis and being introduced to entrepreneurial thinking truly impressed me. If I remember correctly, I completed my first SWOT analysis for a real company only after finishing my studies.

How were you able to further develop your own skills through coaching?

This coaching opportunity gave me new insights and a better understanding of the perspectives and ways of working of the next generation. I found it enriching to stand alongside students and support them throughout such a comprehensive project. It also gave me another coaching experience in a different format.

What concerns can you ease for colleagues who are considering getting involved as coaches?

I was surprised by how independently the students worked. The school’s preparatory work is truly excellent. That’s why I would encourage anyone who is unsure to simply go for it and have the courage to learn something new, in the spirit of a growth mindset. And the results speak for themselves: my group achieved first place at their school in both Phase 1 and Phase 2.
