Evonik introduces ultrafast Ancamine® 2875 epoxy curing agent for moisture vapor barrier applications

Evonik has expanded its portfolio of epoxy curing agents with the launch of Ancamine® 2875.

  • Ultrafast curing with extended working time

  • Exceptional moisture vapor barrier performance for demanding flooring and coating applications

  • Formulated without alkylphenol accelerators for safer, low-emission, faster return‑to‑service

Allentown, USA. Evonik has expanded its portfolio of epoxy curing agents with the launch of Ancamine® 2875, a modified polyamine curing agent engineered for ultrafast curing, superior moisture vapor barrier performance, and excellent adhesion to cold and damp concrete. This latest innovation reinforces Evonik’s commitment to delivering high-performance solutions, particularly in demanding flooring applications.

Ancamine® 2875 delivers a rare combination of ultrafast curing and extended working time—two attributes that are typically difficult to achieve simultaneously. Its advanced formulation eliminates the need for hazardous alkylphenol accelerators, resulting in an ultra-low-emission solution that enhances both worker safety and environmental compatibility.

“Moisture-related flooring failures remain a major risk for our customers, both technically and financially. With Ancamine® 2875, we deliver a solution that mitigates that risk while combining ultrafast curing with extended working time. This enables greater efficiency and compliance without compromising performance,” said Dr. Kevin Wohlhauser, Americas Market Director at Evonik Crosslinkers.

In addition, the product offers outstanding moisture vapor barrier performance and is certified to meet ASTM F3010 requirements, making it highly effective in preventing moisture vapor transmission through concrete floors and reducing the risk of costly flooring failures.

As part of Evonik’s broader moisture vapor barrier portfolio, Ancamine® 2875 is designed for applications where low emissions, fast curing, and enhanced labeling compliance are critical. It performs effectively across a wide range of use levels and is compatible with standard diluted liquid epoxy resins, giving formulators greater flexibility and offering a cost-efficient alternative to more expensive bisphenol F systems.

“With Ancamine® 2875, customers can achieve moisture vapor barrier performance of less than 0.1 perms at coating thicknesses as low as 12 mils, as demonstrated by ASTM E-96 testing,” said Dr. Shiying Zheng, Applied Technology Director for Evonik Crosslinkers. “This innovation delivers both performance and value, making it an ideal solution for modern flooring systems.”
