Evonik to showcase new polyurethane additive innovations at PU China 2026

  • Two global and two Asia debuts supporting foam performance, processing efficiency and customers'
  • sustainability goals
  • Broader local portfolio and enhanced supply security for customers in China
  • Launch of a new visual identity for Evonik Interface & Polyurethane Additives

Under the theme “Beyond the Surface”, Evonik will showcase its latest additive solutions for polyurethane (PU) foams at PU China 2026 in Shanghai from November 3-5. Highlights include two global and two Asia product debuts, reflecting Evonik's ongoing commitment to advancing foam performance, processing efficiency, and to offering more sustainable solutions, including negligible-emission catalysts and lower-GWP (Global Warming Potential) surfactants.

Backed by decades of expertise, Evonik offers a comprehensive portfolio of catalysts, surfactants, release agents, performance additives and specialty amines for a wide range of PU applications. Combining global innovation with local manufacturing, technical expertise and customer support, Evonik helps customers address evolving market and application requirements.

“At PU China 2026, visitors will discover the latest innovations we’ve developed to address evolving industry needs, alongside the global trade fair launch of our new visual identity for our business line,” said Hang Xu, Head of Evonik Interface & Polyurethane Additives in Asia Pacific. “Supported by growing local capabilities, including the expansion of specialty amines production capacity in Nanjing earlier this year, we are well positioned to offer local customers in China and the wider region a broader portfolio, enhanced security of supply and local technical support.”

Evonik’s key innovation highlights at PU China 2026 include:

  • Rigid foam solutions for efficient thermal insulation:
Driven by growing demand for energy efficiency, Evonik’s TEGOSTAB® silicone surfactants, together with DABCO® and POLYCAT® amine catalysts, support excellent insulation performance and low-emission processing across appliance, construction and cold chain applications. Advanced catalyst packages for next-generation spray foam systems boost stability and processing efficiency while enabling safer spraying and faster worker re-entry. For rigid foam panels, TEGOSTAB® B 84840 and EP-R-S 81 improve surface quality, reduce voids and lower lambda values for better insulation. In demanding appliance applications, TEGOSTAB® B 84813, B 84841 and B 84851 help improve foam flow, formulation compatibility and thermal performance.
  • Flexible foam solutions for recovery and hand feel:
For mattress-in-a-box and specialty comfort foams, Evonik’s additive solutions support consumer expectation for lasting comfort and consistent performance. Making its global debut at the event, TEGOSTAB® B 8273, together with ORTEGOL® 700, improves post-compression recovery in mattress-in-a-box applications. For viscoelastic and molded MDI-based foams, TEGOSTAB® B 8211 and the globally launched B 8292 deliver tailored hand feel, optimized cell structure, low emissions and robust processing stability.
  • Low-emission and lower carbon footprint for automotive molded foams:
Advanced additive technologies for automotive interiors support cleaner cabin air. Making their Asia debut, DABCO® NE 1067 Negligible Emission catalyst and DABCO® SI 1218 LO Low-Odor surfactant help foamers meet OEM targets and minimize VOC exposure for workers and consumers. Evonik will also showcase its Low Carbon Footprint (LCF) surfactants, TEGOSTAB® B 8751 LCF and B 8763 LCF, which offer a reduced Global Warming Potential (GWP) compared with conventional surfactants, without compromising foam quality or processing efficiency.
  • Processing and performance additives for specialized PU applications:
Evonik offers a broad additive toolbox to optimize processing and performance across specialty PU applications. For coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers (CASE), heat-activated, delayed-action catalysts such as POLYCAT® SA 8 and POLYCAT® SA 21 provide targeted reactivity and stable processing, while VERSALINK® diamine curatives extend processing windows and improve mechanical properties. The internal release additives ORTEGOL® IR 3 and IR 5 enable reliable demolding and processing at low use levels in molded and pultruded PU composites for structural profiles, frames, light weight construction and automotive parts.
