GutCare®

GutCare®, a spore forming Bacillus subtilis DSM 32315, supports a more balanced intestinal microbial population and helps avoid several pathogenic conditions, including problems caused by Clostridium perfringens. Because of its resistance to feed processing temperatures as well as high humidity and high temperature storage conditions, GutCare® is suitable for pelleted feeds.

Typical Applications

GutCare® is a probiotic that supports the stability of the intestinal microbial balance in poultry and swine. It is compatible with many of the commonly used commercial coccidiostats, antibiotic growth promoters, and organic acids.

Benefits at a glance

  • Supports a more balanced intestinal microbial population in the gut
  • Suitable for use in pelleted feeds
  • Dust-free and easy to handle in the feed mill
  • Proven to be viable in the presence of organic acids and low pH conditions in the crop, proventriculus, or stomach
  • Produced in a rigorously controlled, FAMI-QS registered production system, ensuring quality, purity and consistency

A comprehensive approach to gut health in poultry

Targeted support for gut health and performance benefits

GutCare® is a probiotic solution based on the spore-forming Bacillus subtilis DSM 32315 strain. This unique strain is selected for its ability to survive the rigors of feed production, endure the acidic environment of the gut, and flourish under intestinal conditions. By supporting the development of a beneficial microbial population in the gut, GutCare® helps restore balance, preventing pathogenic overgrowth and supporting optimal digestive function.

In laboratory tests, GutCare® has proven to be effective against a number of problematic bacteria. In the field, this means reduced health challenges, faster and more efficient growth, and reduced environmental impact. Moreover, data supports the value of this holistic approach for farming operations. A meta-analysis of necrotic enteritis (C. perfringens) challenge trials showed an 8% improvement in weight gain, a 5% improvement in feed conversion ratio, and a 7% reduction in mortality.

Evonik's Gut Health Concept

Evonik has an integrated approach to animal nutrition, which addresses the multi-factorial challenges that livestock farmers face every day. By applying this concept, producers can expect improved performance with much more consistency. The approach combines several key components, from reduced crude protein (eliminating excess nutrients that would otherwise be available for potential pathogens to exploit), through analytical services (reducing costly and problematic safety margins in feed formulations), to gut-active products to enhance gut efficiency and reduce risks of microbiota imbalances (our range of probiotics and other products).
