A silicon oxide/aluminum oxide composite ceramic with high inertness and low porosity ideal for use as a a bed support and/or topping material.
Typical Applications
Used as catalyst and adsorbent bed support in refining, petrochemical and gas processing applications.
Benefits at a glance
- Highly inert material that affords excellent resistance to thermal and mechanical shock.
- Provides proper fluid distribution, prevents fluidization, minimizes pressure drop, and eliminates media migration.

Storage:
The material is stored in its original containers/packaging in a dry, covered location protected
from the ambient environment
• The material is protected from direct exposure to sunlight and rain (prolonged exposure to
direct sunlight may degrade the packaging)
• The material is not subjected to temperatures exceeding 450°F/230°C while in storage
• The material is stored elevated off the ground to ensure that there is no exposure to liquid
water
• Once the material is loaded into the vessel, a thorough nitrogen purge is recommended to
remove excessive free moisture
• Desiccant products intended for regenerative service will require a complete thermal
regeneration cycle (in TSA service) or several pressure swing cycles (in PSA service) before full
activity is restored
