Designed as an activated bed support for various catalyst and adsorbent applications. High surface area contributes to the performance of the adsorbent or catalyst application, while lower bulk density results in lower cost than conventional inert bed support products.
Typical Applications
- Chloride guard beds
- Fluoride guard beds
- COS hydrolysis beds
- Sulfur recovery unit Claus reactor beds
- Dehydration beds.
Benefits at a glance
- High surface area contributes to the performance of the adsorbent or catalyst application
- Lower bulk density results in lower cost-to-fill than conventional inert ceramic bed support products

Storage:
The material is stored in its original containers/packaging in a dry, covered location protected
from the ambient environment
• The material is protected from direct exposure to sunlight and rain (prolonged exposure to
direct sunlight may degrade the packaging)
• The material is not subjected to temperatures exceeding 450°F/230°C while in storage
• The material is stored elevated off the ground to ensure that there is no exposure to liquid
water
• Once the material is loaded into the vessel, a thorough nitrogen purge is recommended to
remove excessive free moisture
• Desiccant products intended for regenerative service will require a complete thermal
regeneration cycle (in TSA service) or several pressure swing cycles (in PSA service) before full
activity is restored
