CHLOROCEL® 909

Maximize time between changeouts by using an adsorbent with higher chloride loading capacity compared to leading mmo adsorbent options
Optimized adsorbent density, strength, and pressure drop with extrudate-shaped particles
Fast adsorption of chlorides decreases the mass transfer zone size allowing more of the bed to reach equilibrium loading vs. leading mmo competitor
Chlorocel™ 909 is the next adsorbent in Evonik’s long history of market leading high performance chloride adsorbents

Typical Applications

Ideal for use in removing inorganic chlorides from catalytic reformer chloride guard beds in vapor or liquid phase applications

Benefits at a glance

Maximizing the cycle length of your chloride guard bed is easy with Chlorocel™ 909. Evonik’s new proprietary blend of mixed metal oxides increases chloride loading capacity by more than 15% over competitive mixed metal oxide adsorbents while minimizing green oil formation and unwanted side reactions. Chlorocel™ 909’s extrudate design improves particle strength while maintaining equivalent pressure drop compared to existing commercial products.

• Longest cycle length to breakthrough
• Highest equilibrium volumetric loading capacity
• Shorter mass transfer zone than leading competitor

Storage:

The material is stored in its original containers/packaging in a dry, covered location protected
from the ambient environment
• The material is protected from direct exposure to sunlight and rain (prolonged exposure to
direct sunlight may degrade the packaging)
• The material is not subjected to temperatures exceeding 450°F/230°C while in storage
• The material is stored elevated off the ground to ensure that there is no exposure to liquid
water
• Once the material is loaded into the vessel, a thorough nitrogen purge is recommended to
remove excessive free moisture
• Desiccant products intended for regenerative service will require a complete thermal
regeneration cycle (in TSA service) or several pressure swing cycles (in PSA service) before full
activity is restored

Packaging:

2,000 lb super sack

Shelf life:

5 years in original packaging stored in a dry, covered location
