Polymer MV 2000 is a polydimethylsiloxane with a vinylfunction only on one chain end of the silicone polymer. Because of the monofunctional structure, only one chain end of the silicone polymer reacts with the network. This leads to a reduction of modulus and hardness in addition curing silicone formulations.
Typical Applications
The following formulation shows the lower hardness achieved with Polymer MV 2000 as compared with a similar formulation containing a corresponding difunctional vinyl silicone (Polymer VS 2000).
Benefits at a glance
- Monovinyl-terminated silicone to be used as a binder or reactive plasticiser for A-silicones
- Oil migration is avoided by reacting the polymer into the elastomeric network
