Glycidol is a reactive diluent for modified epoxy resins used in specialty adhesives, coatings, laminates and electrical insulations. The extremely high reactivity towards a great number of chemical functionalities predestines glycidol for its use as an effective compatibilizer. Moreover, glycidol can be used as a building block for chlorphenesine, which acts as preservative.
