TEGOSTAB® B 8948 is an additive for manufacturing low density PUR shoe soles and other microcellular foams. It induces cell opening and thereby helps to reduce shrinkage and can support to reduce skin defects originating from otherwise too tight cell structure.
Typical Applications
TEGOSTAB® B 8948 is mostly used in shoe sole systems. Despite its predominant use in polyester based systems, it can however also help to open the cell structure in polyether based formulations if needed.
TEGOSTAB® B 8948 has to be used in combination with a stabilizer. The choice of stabilizer depends on the specific system.
