ORTEGOL® 502 is a degassing compound for manufacturing rigid polyurethane foam. It is a dispersion of silica in polydiethyl siloxane which is soluble in a wide range of polyols and causes no phase separation issues.
Typical Applications
ORTEGOL® 502 is a very potent cell opener for rigid polyurethane foams, e.g. all water-blown low-density spray foam which requires a certain amount of open cells in order to prevent the foam from shrinkage. In case of these foam applications, ORTEGOL® 502 has to be used in combination with a cell stabilizer.
ORTEGOL® 502 can also be used as a defoamer in high density polyurethane applications.
