TEGOSTAB® B 8244 is a surfactant with high potency and good cell opening for manufacturing polyurethane foam. It is particularly well-suited for medium and higher foam densities with an unsual broad processing latitude.
Typical Applications
TEGOSTAB® B 8244 is a medium to high active silicone surfactant and is typically used in manufacturing flexible poyether polyurethane foams. Due to its hydrophilic character TEGOSTAB® B 8244 is suitable for formulations containing hydrophilic polyols like those typically used in standard formulations as a cell opener, or in viscoelastic or hypersoft foam formulations.
Further applications include formulations in which a very broad processing latitude is required. TEGOSTAB® B 8244 provides an excellent processing latitude. Even at high stabilizer usage levels or increased tin levels, tightening of the foam is less pronounced whereas many standard surfactants result in a closed cell structure.
