TEGO® PPA 51-1 is an organo-modified siloxane (OMS) in solid form designed to be used as a PFAS replacement polymer processing aid in various film and fibre processes.
Typical Applications
TEGO® PPA 51-1 can be applied in various film processes, e.g. cast film, blown film and others. The additive is suitable for transparent as well as matte film applications and filled films with e.g. TiO2 or CaCO3.
TEGO PPA 51-1 is used in fiber spinning processes to enhance the throughput and reduce fiber fraction during extrusion. It is also useful in challenging extrusion operations where a smooth surface appearance is expected, such as in pipe and profile extrusion.
TEGO® PPA 51-1 is a PFAS replacement for fluorine-based polymer processing aids (PPA) to prevent shark skin appearance and die drool built up during film manufacturing.
TEGO® PPA 51-1 causes a significant reduction of the coefficient of friction (COF). At the same time the slip performance is improved. There is no transfer of the additive to the opposite layer of the film causing a lost in adhesion force or a reduced sealing strength.
