TEGOSIL® MOD 651 is a reactive silicone plasticizer for condensation systems containing both crosslinkable (hydroxy-functional) and unreactive chain ends. It is therefore particularly suited for producing “non-bleeding” silicone sealants for marble/natural stone applications and migration-free encapsulants for the electronics industry. In addition, TEGOSIL® stands for high-quality silicone solutions with low cyclic content, ensuring optimized performance and compliance with stringent regulatory standards (D4 < 250ppm, D5 < 1000ppm, D6 < 1000ppm).
Typical Applications
Silicone formulations using TEGOSIL® MOD 651 can be produced by the same mixing procedures as known from other condensation cure silicones. The common cure chemistries (e.g. alkoxy, acetoxy) can be employed.
Transforming a classical, plasticizer-containing formulation into a migration-proof version is accomplished by completely substituting the non-reactive plasticizer by TEGOSIL® MOD 651. If required, additionally the base polymer may partly be substituted.
Shore hardness, modulus and viscosity can be adjusted by the dosage TEGOSIL® MOD 651.
