TEGOSIL® MOD 650 & TEGOSIL® MOD 655 are reactive silicone plasticizers for condensation curing silicone formulations containing crosslinkable (hydroxy-functional) and unreactive chain ends. TEGOSIL® MOD 650 & TEGOSIL® MOD 655 are therefore particularly suited for producing “non-bleeding” silicone sealants for marble/natural stone applications and for the electronics industry. Gel-like materials can also be produced using TEGOSIL® MOD 650 & TEGOSIL® MOD 655. In addition, TEGOSIL® stands for high-quality silicone solutions with low cyclic content, ensuring optimized performance and compliance with stringent industry standards (D4 < 250ppm, D5 < 1000ppm, D6 < 1000ppm).
Typical Applications
Silicone formulations using TEGOSIL® MOD can be produced in the same way as other known polymer/plasticizer mixtures, i. e. by substituting a non-reactive plasticizer completely or partly by TEGOSIL® MOD; if required, the base polymer may also be partly substituted by TEGOSIL® MOD. Depending on the percentage of TEGOSIL® MOD contained in a formulation, the Shore hardness can be adjusted over a wide range. Crosslinking of the reactive chain end of this modifier is by means of the condensation crosslinkers already present in the respective system.
It should be pointed out that formulations containing TEGOSIL® MOD show improved (reduced) time to first elastic recovery compared to formulations containing non-reactive silicone plasticizers.
