SITREN AirVoid® 317 is a nonionic surfactant mixture. It provides very low dynamic surface tension in aqueous solution. It has a large diffusion coefficient which makes it rapidly diffuse and adsorb onto the air/solid, air/liquid interface in the concrete/mortar mixture. It may help the entrapped foams escape through wetting the cement particles surrounded by hydrophobic groups from PCE molecules at air/solid interface. It can also eliminate undesired foams through reducing the film viscosity and molecular lateral interaction at air/liquid interface.
Typical Applications
SITREN AirVoid® 317 is mainly applied in the defoaming of cementitious materials (concrete/mortar) formulated with superplasticizer (PCE). It can reduce/control the air content of the concrete, decrease surface foams of fresh concrete mixture and hardened concrete. Moreover, SITREN AirVoid® 317 also has a certain wetting and co-dispersing property which may help improve the workability of fresh concrete. SITREN AirVoid® 317 can be either added during the manufacturing of PCE or mixed with concrete/mortar directly.
SITREN AirVoid® 317 can also be used as a defoamer or wetting agent in the aqueous organic-inorganic complex dispersion, such as formulated constructive emulsion, polymer modified waterproofing mortar.
