Jens Busse is an Investment Director with a sector focus on Cosmetic Solutions, Sustainability and Specialty Additives. He is located in Germany and responsible for the region Scandinavia. Jens holds multiple board positions across portfolio companies and actively supports Evonik’s Custom Solutions segment and the Evonik Innovation Factory, focusing on innovation strategy, venture collaboration, business development, and portfolio growth.
Prior to joining the team, Jens was heading the growth line Upstream Solutions within CREAVIS, the strategic innovation unit of Evonik Industries. Jens and his team focused on different innovation topics in the search field areas Hydrogen Solutions, Gas Separation and Membranes. From 2001 to 2009 he worked as Project Manager within the Process Technology department of Evonik Industries. In this time the main focus of his work was operator training simulation and energy optimization of chemical sites. After studying mechanical engineering and process technology at the Ruhr University of Bochum, he earned his PhD in process synthesis.
