Mouli's career path into Operations Excellence

I started my journey at Evonik as a Chemical Process Technician, gradually grew into the role of Production Manager, and later expanded my experience through various roles across different functions. Today, I contribute to Operations Excellence as the Regional EPS for Asia Pacific. When I look back, I feel a deep sense of gratitude for every step along the way. That gratitude has become my greatest source of energy - it keeps me grounded, focused on what truly matters, and helps me let life’s passing clouds move on without losing momentum.

You love to surprise people by exceeding their expectation - and so you did, when you shared with us about your favorite project!

My favorite project has always been about people. I kept asking myself: How can we help people realize how capable they truly are?

We have so many “hidden managers” in our company - talented individuals who often underestimate their own strengths. My goal was to create an environment where people see themselves through the lens of their capabilities, not just their job levels. Empowering people to recognize their potential has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.

You work across several Business Lines in Asia Pacific region to support Operations Excellence  -  what's your goal? 

In my role as Regional EPS, I help drive operational excellence across Evonik’s production network by deploying the Evonik Production System (EPS), conducting diagnostic assessments to enhance cost, efficiency, and capabilities, and supporting Production & Technology excellence initiatives across the region APAC. I act as a bridge between Business Lines, plant teams, and our global Production & Technology governance. My purpose is simple yet powerful: to strengthen efficiency, build team excellence, and elevate plant performance across the region.

Why do you feel that you are at the right spot?

In this role, I’m able to see the bigger picture - understanding plant operations across different Business Lines and countries. I ensure the strategic alignment between the BL and the Plant, creating a shared direction that strengthens how we operate as one Evonik. This perspective allows me to connect our plants at an operational level, encourage learning across teams, and break down silos. It gives me a deep sense of satisfaction to know that, together, we are co‑creating real value for Evonik’s success. That’s why I truly feel I’m exactly where I belong.
