The formulation of Mepron® maximizes the bioavailability of DL-methionine for dairy cows. Its time-release coating protects methionine from rumen degradation, enabling effective absorption in the small intestine. This targeted delivery is vital since methionine is often the first limiting amino acid in dairy diets. By enhancing amino acid balancing, Mepron® optimizes protein synthesis and nutrient utilization. This allows farmers to reduce crude protein in feed rations without compromising cow performance, thereby lowering feed costs. Mepron® offers cost savings of US$ 0.05–0.20 per cow per day.
