PERACLEAN® 5 is an effective disinfectant with a broad application spectrum, characterized by excellent activity against bacteria, bacterial spores, fungi, and viruses. It has been developed for the disinfection of equipment, instruments, and surfaces in the agricultural and food industries as well as in the industrial & institutional, laundry, and medical sectors.
In the agricultural industry, PERACLEAN® 5 is used for sanitation procedures in preparing premises for new livestock, for disinfection in animal drinking water management, and for equipment cleaning and disinfection (e.g., milking clusters, animal transport vehicles and footwear, and more), all being an integral part of farm biosecurity.
In the food industry, PERACLEAN® 5 is commonly used in CIP or SIP installations (cleaning or sterilization in place). Cleaning or disinfection is done automatically following a fixed program. The cleaning agents and disinfectants are used several times and stored in their dedicated tanks. After the disinfection procedure, the treated surfaces must be rinsed with pure water to remove all residues.
For disinfection of medical equipment, the product is applied via a low-pressure sprayer or a pre-soaked wipe onto precleaned surfaces. Small medical instruments, after a cleaning step, are usually treated by immersion into a disinfecting bath. The exposure time must always be correlated based on microbiological tests for a specific application and verified by corresponding control procedures. After the disinfection procedure, the treated surfaces can be rinsed with pure water or allowed to air dry to remove all residues.
PERACLEAN® 5 decomposes into the biodegradable substances water, oxygen, and acetic acid after disinfection.
