Our main products, hydrogen peroxide and peracetic acid, are versatile, effective oxidants that can be used in a wide range of applications — from wastewater treatment and electronics manufacturing to aerospace propulsion, chemical synthesis, food processing, cleaning and disinfection, pulp and paper production, textile and laundry treatment, agriculture, and more. Yet when these active oxygens have done their work, they break down into entirely biodegradable substances.

We also offer field-proven solutions for soil and groundwater remediation based on persulfates and other specialized technologies.

Our hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂) is now available with a significantly reduced product carbon footprint (PCF).

Hydrogen peroxide is already a clean oxidant by nature—but Evonik is taking it further. Through our Way to GO2 initiative, we’re transforming H₂O₂ production across Europe by replacing fossil-based inputs with renewable electricity, green hydrogen, and energy-efficient technologies. The result: certified low carbon footprint hydrogen peroxide that helps customers reduce Scope 3 emissions without changing product specifications, logistics, or compliance. Backed by TÜV Rheinland certification, it’s a smart step toward climate-neutral chemistry.

Soil & Groundwater Remediation

Our portfolio features advanced remediation technologies—including accelerated bioremediation, reductive dechlorination, enhanced bioremediation, in situ chemical oxidation (ISCO) and stabilization, and in situ treatment of heavy metals—for the effective removal of harmful contaminants from soil and groundwater. 

These solutions target pollutants such as pesticides, explosives, perchlorates, chlorinated solvents, chlorinated compounds, PAHs, and petroleum hydrocarbons. 

Innovative HP+ technologies

HP+ Technologies

We have developed innovative, direct and sustainable hydrogen peroxide-based synthesis technologies. Our HPPO technology is an environmentally friendly and cost-efficient direct synthesis of propylene oxide based on hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). HYPROSYN® is the brand name for the process used to produce propylene glycol from propylene and hydrogen peroxide. 

Compared to conventional methods, our HP+ hydrogen peroxide technologies offer an energy-saving, and cost-effective solution.
