Low Carbon Footprint Hydrogen Peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide is already a clean oxidant by nature—but Evonik is taking it further. Through our Way to GO2 initiative, we’re transforming H₂O₂ production across Europe by replacing fossil-based inputs with renewable electricity, green hydrogen, and energy-efficient technologies. The result: certified low carbon footprint hydrogen peroxide that helps customers reduce Scope 3 emissions without changing product specifications, logistics, or compliance. Backed by TÜV Rheinland certification, it’s a smart step toward climate-neutral chemistry.

Low Carbon Footprint Peracetic Acid

Evonik now offers certified low carbon footprint peracetic acid, enabling verified reductions in product carbon footprint without changing specifications or performance. As part of our Way to GO₂ initiative, this solution is produced via a TÜV Rheinland–certified mass balance approach that incorporates renewable feedstocks.

The result is fully compliant, quality‑consistent peracetic acid with transparently documented Scope 3 emission savings—supporting customers on their path toward climate‑neutral chemistry.

Soil & Groundwater Remediation

Our portfolio features advanced remediation technologies—including accelerated bioremediation, reductive dechlorination, enhanced bioremediation, in situ chemical oxidation (ISCO) and stabilization, and in situ treatment of heavy metals—for the effective removal of harmful contaminants from soil and groundwater. 

These solutions target pollutants such as pesticides, explosives, perchlorates, chlorinated solvents, chlorinated compounds, PAHs, and petroleum hydrocarbons. 

Innovative HP+ technologies

HP+ Technologies

We have developed innovative, direct and sustainable hydrogen peroxide-based synthesis technologies. Our HPPO technology is the cost-efficient direct synthesis of propylene oxide based on hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). HYPROSYN® is the brand name for the process used to produce propylene glycol from propylene and hydrogen peroxide. 

Compared to conventional methods, our HP+ hydrogen peroxide technologies offer an energy-saving, cost-effective solution.

VIGOROX® Ceres Combats Fusarium Fungi in Malting Barley

Evonik Active Oxygens is taking the fight to Fusarium fungi with a special washing process. These microorganisms primarily infest wheat and barley crops and can render large amounts of the harvest unusable for any further processing. The new washing process, which contains the active ingredient peracetic acid, can make a significant contribution to reducing losses in quality and yield. Yet the treatment does not inhibit germination, nor does it leave chemical residues behind.
