LACTEL® 55:45 DL-PLG-Glu IV 0.40-0.60 (legacy LACTEL® B6131-1) is a highly purified branched copolymer of 55 mol % D,L-Lactide and 45 mol % Glycolide with a hydroxyl end group.
The inherent viscosity range of this polymer is 0.40-0.60 dL/g.
This bioabsorbable excipient was originally developed specifically for the formulation of microspheres with octreotide and is supplied as a white to light-tan powdery solid.
Its branched nature provides unique drug delivery characteristics and may be beneficial for use in applications involving highly sensitive or reactive APIs.
