Storage:
Evonik silica products are inert and extremely stable chemically. However, due to their high specific surface area, they can absorb moisture and volatile organic compounds from the surrounding environment. We therefore recommend storing the product in the original packaging (e.g., fully shrink-wrapped) or in sealed containers in a dry place away from volatile organic substances. Even with storage under ideal conditions, after a long period of time the product can pick up ambient moisture, which could lead to exceeding the specified moisture content. For this reason, our recommended use-by date is 36 months subsequent to the manufacturing date. Product more than 36 months old should be tested before use for moisture content in order to make certain that it is still suitable for the intended application.
