Evonik’s High Performance Polymers business line offers a diverse range of polymers vital for innovation in the automotive industry, industrial production, medical devices and specialized consumer goods. Key offerings include the polyamide -based VESTAMID®, VESTOSINT® and TROGAMID® product groups, robust VESTAKEEP® polymers and versatile ROHACELL® foams, 3D-printing-ready INFINAM® powders and filaments, and energy efficient SEPURAN® and DURAION® membranes for gas separation and hydrogen production.
All VESTAMID® and INFINAM® materials are produced with sustainable electricity and offer mass-balanced bio-circular feedstocks for additional carbon-reduction requirements.
The high-performance polyamides VESTAMID® and TROGAMID® are to be found in sports shoe soles and in sunglasses, in filaments for brushes or textiles, in gas pipes, oil production lines and in various safety-related automotive parts. VESTAMID® of Evonik is the mostly used polyamide 12 for automotive line systems.
The high-temperature polymer VESTAKEEP® PEEK replaces metal in many industrial applications. In addition its characteristics are highly valued in implants and dental applications.
The thermoplastic rubber VESTENAMER® is an important processing aid in manufacturing tires and technical rubber parts. It also eases rubber recycling and therefore is used in elastomer modified asphalt.
Our polymer powders, e.g., VESTOSINT® are used for wire coating as dishwasher racks and in all common 3-D printing processes. Due to its many years of expertise in this area, HP will also manage the innovation growth area of additive manufacturing.
ROHACELL® is a lightweight structural foam core for composites in aircraft construction, among others. Recently, ROHACRYL™ has been developed to meet the requirements of high-volume industries with a clear focus on lightweight and sustainable applications.
ROHAFORM® is a state-of-the-art, lightweight particle foam core material for industries with stringent fire, smoke and toxicity level requirements.
SEPURAN® membrane modules upgrade bio or natural gas, and hydrogen, generate nitrogen or recover helium – highly selective and efficiently. Membrane technology is also one of Evonik's six defined innovation growth areas.
Hot gases from waste incinerators and other plants are cleaned with filters made of P84® fibers. The protective suits of firefighters also make use of the heat protection capability of these fibers.
