Effects of different Met+Cys:Lys ratio programs and methionine sources on growth performance during the first 42 days of age
In this trial, different SID Met+Cys ratio programs were evaluated in male Ross 708 broilers from 0 to 42 days of age, comparing liquid MHA-FA with DL-Met at a 100:65 replacement ratio. The results showed that replacing 100 parts of MHA-FA with 65 parts of DL-Met did not affect growth performance, independent of the Met+Cys ratio program.
The study confirmed that liquid MHA-FA can be replaced with 65 parts of DL-methionine independent of the Met+Cys:Lys program without affecting growth performance, while achieving significant savings with DL-Met.

The aim of this trial was to determine the effects of different SID Met+Cys to Lys ratio combinations and of replacing 100 units of liquid MHA-FA with 65 units of DL-Methionine on growth performance of broilers from 0-42 days of age.

Trial results
- Broilers fed the negative control diet without any supplemental Methionine sources, had a significantly lower BW and greater FCR compared to the other treatments (Figure 1 and 2).
- Under the evaluated conditions, the different Met+Cys:Lys programs (table 1) did not affect the final body weight (Figure 1) or the overall FCR (Figure 2).
- Overall, replacing 100 parts of liquid MHA-FA with 65 parts of DL-Met did not affect final BW or FCR at any of the 3 different Met+Cys:Lys ratio programs (Figure 1 and 2).
- The relative bioavailability of MHA-FA was validated to be equivalent to 65% DL-Met and that it can be applied at any Met+Cys:Lys ratio.
