TEGO® Therm Makes Insulation Coatings More Efficient and Enhances Safety in EV Batteries

The TEGO® Therm product group offers high-performance granules and heat-resistant binders specifically engineered for thermal insulation coatings, along with solutions for electric vehicle (EV) battery housings.

TEGO® Therm products function as spray insulation coatings that offer effective thermal insulation while also ensuring that surfaces remain at a safe temperature for human contact. Regarding battery housings, TEGO® Therm provides fire resistance which helps to reduce the risk of thermal runaway in EV batteries.

The substantial expenses tied to insulating complex pipe or housing shapes, including valves, often result in these areas being left unprotected, creating safety hazards and greater energy losses.

Unlike conventional insulation systems like mineral wool, thermal insulation coatings can be easily applied to intricate 3D forms via spraying. This application method allows for insulation to be installed even while equipment is running, significantly cutting down on downtime and maintenance expenses.
