Reactive Adhesives and Sealants

One- and two-component reactive adhesives are used when strength, durability or fast curing is required. Our additives for reactive adhesives and sealants, including epoxies, polyurethanes, and acrylic systems offer numerous ways to fine-tune mechanical properties, processing behaviour and long‑term performance.

Our silane-modified polymers serve as high-quality binders for your hybrid adhesives and sealants, enabling you to develop formulations that provide strong adhesion, flexibility and low‑emission without hazard labelling.

Water-based adhesives form a bond between two substrates as water evaporates or is absorbed into the substrate. Evonik provides wetting agents, antifoams, emulsifiers and performance-enhancing additives for the production and optimization of water-based adhesive dispersions. These additives reduce foaming, improve wetting, control rheology behavior and enhance filler dispersion, making it easier to formulate high-performance products for packaging, laminating, PSA and construction adhesives.

To enhance the performance of water-based PSAs, we offer methacrylate monomers.

Solvent-based adhesives are a mixture of polymers and additives dissolved in a solvent and are widely used in household and industrial adhesives, including industrial assembly, shoe sole gluing, tape and construction applications. Our additives support production process stability, improve application properties and enhance the final performance of solventborne adhesive and sealant formulations.
