High-Performance Cooling Fluids

Owing to their chemical composition of solely carbon and hydrogen, hydrocarbons exhibit exceptionally low relative permittivity compared with other liquid classes. Esters used for thermal management are structurally similar to hydrocarbons; however, the presence of the ester functional group introduces a small dipole moment that enables partial molecular orientation in electric fields. Although this polarization effect diminishes at higher frequencies for all esters, VISCOBASE® 11‑152 features a tailored molecular structure that further suppresses dipolar response. As a result, its dielectric performance closely approaches that of hydrocarbon fluids. 

Esters exhibit significantly lower viscosity than other cooling liquids with comparable flashpoints, combined with an excellent toxicity profile that simplifies fluid handling. Viscosity is a key parameter influencing heat transfer efficiency and overall cooling performance. As a result, IT equipment cooled with VISCOBASE® 11‑152 operates at lower temperatures, which directly contributes to improved energy efficiency and reduced operating costs.
