High-performance Solutions for Strong, Durable and Efficient Bonding

Adhesives and sealants are essential to modern product design and manufacturing. They enable strong, durable bonds, support lightweight construction, allow the joining of different materials and help improve efficiency in demanding production processes. From structural bonding and solvent-based adhesives to PVC and PMMA plastisols and polymer dispersions, formulators need technologies that deliver reliable adhesion, processing flexibility and long-term performance.

Evonik Crosslinkers supports the adhesives and sealants industry with a broad portfolio of curing agents, accelerators, crosslinkers, adhesion promoters and specialty technologies. Our solutions help improve bond strength, cohesion, flexibility, chemical resistance, thermal stability, formulation stability and processing behavior across one-component and two-component systems.

Our technologies are used in demanding adhesive and sealant applications across automotive, electronics assembly, general industrial bonding, aerospace, packaging and other high-performance markets. With proven brands such as ANCAMINE®, ANCAMIDE®, AMICURE®, CUREZOL®, IMICURE®, DICYANEX®, NOURYBOND®, VESTANAT®, VESTAMIN® and VESTASOL®, Evonik Crosslinkers helps customers turn formulation challenges into reliable bonding solutions.

Strength, Precision and Durability for Demanding Assemblies

Structural adhesives are designed for applications where strength, durability and long-term integrity are critical. They enable strong, load-bearing bonds across metals, composites, plastics, ceramics, glass and other substrates, often replacing or complementing mechanical fastening methods. This supports lighter designs, improved stress distribution and greater freedom in modern engineering.

Our high-performance technologies are for both one-component and two-component structural adhesive systems. One-component, or 1K, systems are pre-mixed formulations that cure through heat or activation and are valued for convenient processing, long storage stability and reliable performance. AMICURE®, IMICURE® and CUREZOL® technologies support controlled curing in heat-activated systems, while ANCAMINE® modified aliphatic amines can help reduce activation temperature while maintaining formulation latency.

Two-component, or 2K, epoxy systems combine resin and hardener before application, giving formulators control over pot life, cure speed and final bond strength. ANCAMINE® and ANCAMIDE® curing agents support high bonding strength, toughness, chemical resistance and reliable room-temperature cure. VESTANAT® technologies can also support high-performance adhesive systems where polyurethane chemistry is required.

These technologies help ensure resistance to fatigue, impact, heat, chemicals and environmental stress, supporting durable bonding performance in automotive, aerospace, electronics, construction and industrial applications.

Fast Processing & Versatile Performance

Solvent-based adhesives remain important in applications where fast drying, strong adhesion and efficient processing are required. They are used across a wide range of industrial bonding applications, including automotive interiors, flexible materials, construction, tapes, general assembly and specialty adhesive systems.

These formulations can offer rapid drying and efficient application in high-throughput production processes. They also provide strong adhesion across many substrates, supporting reliable bonding where performance, flexibility and processing speed are essential. For formulators, the challenge is to balance viscosity, drying behavior, open time, final bond strength and resistance to heat, chemicals or mechanical stress.

We enable solvent-based adhesive development with technologies that help improve formulation performance and processing reliability. VESTASOL® can contribute to adhesive systems where specific solvent-based formulation requirements, compatibility and performance characteristics are needed.

By combining specialty chemistry with formulation expertise, we help adhesive manufacturers develop solvent-based systems that support dependable bonding, efficient application and versatile performance across demanding end uses.

Durability and Flexible Performance

PVC and PMMA plastisols are used where adhesion, flexibility, sealing and long-term protection are essential. In automotive and industrial applications, they support seam sealing, bonding, waterproofing, corrosion protection, underbody protection and coating of exposed surfaces. Strong adhesion to primers, metal substrates and coated surfaces is critical to ensure reliable performance over the product lifetime.

Our NOURYBOND® adhesion promoters for PVC and PMMA plastisol systems are designed to improve adhesion to electrodeposition primers, e-coat primed steel and metal substrates. This is especially important in automotive sealing and coating systems, where modern primer technologies and demanding processing conditions can create new formulation challenges.

NOURYBOND® helps plastisol formulators achieve robust bonding, excellent flexibility and long-lasting mechanical stability. It can also support resistance to plasticizer migration and environmental exposure, helping improve durability in demanding applications.

By enhancing adhesion and supporting tailored formulation performance, we help customers develop plastisol systems that deliver reliable sealing, protection and flexibility across automotive and industrial markets.

Enhanced Stability & Cohesion

Polymer dispersions are widely used in adhesives, sealants and coating-related applications where film formation, cohesion, adhesion and formulation stability are essential. They help formulators create systems that combine performance, flexibility and efficient processing, while also supporting the move toward water-based and lower-emission technologies.

Our technologies can enhance dispersion performance by improving crosslinking efficiency, film strength and durability. VESTANAT® crosslinkers can help improve resistance properties and final performance in suitable dispersion systems, while VESTAMIN® products can support tailored reactivity and formulation design where amine chemistry is required.

For adhesive and sealant formulators, optimized crosslinking can improve cohesion, mechanical strength, chemical resistance and long-term durability. It can also support formulation stability and help ensure consistent performance during application and service life.

With our portfolio of crosslinking and curing technologies, we support customers to develop polymer dispersion systems that deliver durable bonding performance, reliable processing and enhanced stability across demanding applications.
