The Product Supply Manager (PSM) role is a key role within the Americas Supply Chain Organization, supporting the Crosslinkers Business Line (BL) and product line Epoxy Curing Agents (ECA). The PSM is responsible for the end-to-end supply chain strategy and execution for tolled, traded (buy-resell), and imported products, as well as Crosslinkers products produced at 2 other domestic Evonik plants. This includes accountability for ensuring alignment on the demand planning, production scheduling, material and inventory planning, co-leading the S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) process, and ensuring security of supply from all sources of production. In cases of supply-demand imbalances, the PSM will develop and implement allocation plans in coordination with the business and product management team. As the primary BL ECA interface with supply from 2 plants managed by another BL, the PSM will collaborate on S&OP meetings, address supply challenges, and manage global allocations. Additionally, the PSM will lead a team of two Material Planners, align supply chain strategies with business objectives, optimize costs, meet service level targets, optimize net working capital, and minimize inventory risks. The role also involves supporting customer complaint resolution, new product introductions, and new material or toller setups, while driving continuous improvement and efficiency across the supply chain.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the monthly S&OP Process including completing Supply Balancing, ensuring alignment with the Suppliers, co-leading the Regional ECA S&OP meetings with cross functional team, drive alignment with regional team.
- Participate in S&OP Meetings run by another BL, provide CL input, and incorporate highlights/gaps into the regional ECA S&OP Meetings. Advocate for BL priorities.
- Communicate demand, supply, inventory issues; provide a recommendation and drive alignment and execution.
- Lead the team through Supply Issues and allocations. Align with Marketing and product management on the customer and product strategy and resolve issues with procurement.
- Provide leadership and direction to the team. Establish stream- lined work processes.
- Align with BL on Inventory/NWC Strategy and manage execution and inventory tracking and health/disposal decisions.
- Work with procurement on toll strategies, new toller set-up, provide input to procurement and suppliers on the forecast, ensure security of supply.
- Drive improvement in KPIs, drive efficiency and cost improvement.
- Manage the importing of materials. Coordinate with global team to ensure adequate supply
- Lead &/or support SC improvement projects and initiatives. Support new set-up of materials, complaint process, new product introductions, etc.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree Required preferably in Science, Engineering, Supply Chain or Logistics. MBA or Professional Certification in Supply Chain Management (ie. CPIM) are preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years relevant work experience in supply chain in the chemical or pharmaceutical industry required. Commercial, Manufacturing, or Asset Management experience is a plus.
- Must be proficient in SAP.
- Excellent communication skills, detail-oriented, strong analytical skills, pro-active, and able to manage multiple priorities. Ability to lead complex cross functional activities in a fast –paced environment, develop strong interpersonal relationships, and establish trust.
- Strong leadership skills, ability to lead organizations through change, and strong influence skills. Strong data and computer skills
- Proficiency in IBP is desired or be willing to learn
- Possess good financial acumen to optimize profitability as well as understand financial implications of supply chain decisions and overall profitability.
- Ability to identify and execute improvements, streamline work processes, optimize the supply chain, and drive alignment of stakeholders.
