SUMMARY
This position is within the Care Solutions segment and has responsibility at the Milton site maintenance department which is a multi-user site mainly focused on the practice of alkoxylation and quaternization based process technologies. The Maintenance Manager ensures that a culture of safety is a value and a part of everyone’s daily life. The position is responsible for the maintenance department to provide leadership and support of the group and ensure reliability and availability of plant equipment in a cost-effective manner to meet the needs of production. The position is responsible for and directs the Milton site on preventive, corrective and compliance maintenance activities, equipment reliability assurance, mechanical integrity programs and EHSQ compliance on critical safety devices, executes against safety and general work permit operations including EHSQ, Production, Maintenance and Logistics. This position is responsible for organizational development and training to corporate and segment policies and is an active leader for the site leadership across all
functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the site maintenance department to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of plant equipment supporting production.
- Foster a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all EHS, OSHA, PSM, EPA, and regulatory requirements.
- Direct preventive, corrective, and compliance maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and availability.
- Oversee mechanical integrity programs, inspections, calibrations, and maintenance of critical safety systems and equipment.
- Coordinate maintenance planning, scheduling, work orders, and contractor activities, including safe work permit execution.
- Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and SAP maintenance systems to support efficient operations.
- Lead equipment replacement, CAPEX, and continuous improvement projects, including Management of Change (MOC) activities.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions to improve equipment performance, safety, and reliability.
- Develop, coach, and manage maintenance personnel through hiring, training, cross-training, performance management, and organizational development.
- Partner with site leadership, engineering, production, logistics, and EHS teams to support operational goals and drive continuous improvement.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience, or equivalent combination of education and 10+ years of maintenance leadership experience, preferably within the chemical process industry.
- Demonstrated experience leading maintenance operations in a manufacturing or chemical processing environment.
- Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance, equipment reliability, mechanical integrity, and maintenance planning.
- Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM), OSHA regulations, and environmental compliance programs.
- Proficiency with SAP Maintenance (PM) or other computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Experience leading Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proven ability to manage maintenance teams, contractors, budgets, and capital projects.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to build and develop high-performing teams.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and Mechanical Integrity standards (API, ASME, NFPA, NEC, etc.) preferred.
- Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
