KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (from highest to lowest priority)

  • Ensure compliance with Evonik’s Code of Conduct, Responsible Care Program, Quality, Environment, Health & Safety Management Systems, internal procedures, and ISO 9001/14001 standards (when applicable).
  • Provide operational and strategic leadership to the Operational Procurement team in the Americas region.
  • Manage pricing, terms, and conditions for procurement processes up to USD 30,000 for Indirect and USD 60,000 for Raw materials.
  • Lead negotiations and finalize supplier contracts up to USD 30,000.
  • Identify and anticipate market trends and disruptions, defining strategic objectives aligned with evolving business needs.
  • Increase transparency in the supply chain and optimize data management, ensuring integrity and accessibility.
  • Maintain strong compliance and process harmonization across all activities.
  • Take ownership of risk mitigation by implementing efficient and user-friendly procurement processes.
  • Provide tools and resources to achieve high levels of automation and digitalization.
  • Develop, document, and implement procurement strategies aligned with internal customer needs.
  • Support departmental managers with technical guidance and act as an escalation point for all operational procurement tasks.
  • Define and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Operational team.
  • Manage procurement process documentation to ensure compliance with purchasing policies.
  • Oversee supplier registration management in SAP.
  • Manage supplier qualification, onboarding, and continuous evaluation via SAP (IAF), IntegrityNext, and EcoVadis platforms.
  • Collaborate with regional and global SPO teams.
  • Develop team members to support professional growth.

SPECIFIC DIMENSIONS

  • Coverage of central Procurement purchasing orgs in the Americas, including US, Canada, Brazil, and Argentina.
  • Approx. annual managed spend: USD 700 million

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree (required)
  • MBA in Project Management, Supply Chain, or Procurement (preferred)

Experience

  • Experience in procurement of materials and technical/corporate services
  • Experience in team and project leadership
