The Storeroom Supervisor is responsible for managing maintenance spare parts, inventory accuracy, SAP data, purchasing activities, and daily storeroom operations. The role ensures critical materials are available to support safe and reliable plant operations while maintaining appropriate inventory levels and controlling costs. The position also provides day-to-day direction to material handlers and collaborates with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, suppliers, and other site support teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain accurate SAP maintenance and inventory data, including Bills of Materials (BOMs), equipment master data, and related records.
- Manage spare parts inventory and maintain appropriate minimum and maximum stock levels in SAP.
- Perform routine cycle counts, investigate inventory variances, and process inventory adjustments.
- Create and update Preventive Maintenance (PM) plans based on requests from Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations.
- Generate purchase requisitions for goods and services while supporting cost-effective purchasing practices.
- Coordinate and support the annual physical inventory of storeroom spare parts.
- Provide day-to-day direction, coaching, and support to material handlers and assist with training and development.
- Monitor storeroom effectiveness, material availability, and inventory requirements to support plant maintenance and operations.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely material availability.
- Promote safe, efficient, organized, and customer-focused storeroom operations.
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or college education is preferred.
- Approximately 3 years of relevant experience in inventory management, maintenance materials, storeroom operations, or a related environment.
- Previous supervisory, team-lead, or material-handling experience is preferred.
- Strong computer skills with experience using inventory or maintenance management systems; SAP experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of inventory management, cycle counting, physical inventory, and stock control practices.
- Ability to manage inventory minimum/maximum levels and identify opportunities to optimize stock and reduce costs.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively with internal teams, external suppliers, contractors, and customers.
- Ability to provide direction to material handlers and perform supervisory duties as required.
- Ability to participate in on-call coverage, respond to after-hours emergencies, and provide weekend support when necessary.
