Meet the Team
Responsibilities
- Provide functional, company-wide expertise in specific topics of toxicology and regulation to ensure business success
- Develop scientific strategies to defend the product portfolio of Evonik Industries AG
- Identify trends to further develop expertise and support strategic planning
- Establish targeted networking within internal and external committees, expert groups, and working groups
- Mentor other experts and ensure knowledge transfer through training programs
- Take responsibility for the development and implementation of effective, discipline-specific processes for harmonization and standardization
Requirements
- Completed degree in veterinary or human medicine with a specialization in toxicology/pathology, alternatively a degree in a scientific field such as chemistry, biology, or a related discipline, ideally with a PhD
- Proven ability to represent strategically in national and international expert committees (e.g., VCI, Cefic), ideally with a strong network of relevant stakeholders in chemicals legislation
- In-depth knowledge of chemicals legislation, legislative processes in the EU, and their impact on products and markets
- Extensive, including practical, experience in the field of (eco)toxicology, ideally as a board-certified toxicologist or equivalent
- Advanced knowledge of animal studies and strong analytical skills in dealing with complex animal models; knowledge in epidemiology is an advantage
- Experience in leading and developing experts within the discipline
- Business-fluent German and English skills; additional language skills are an advantage
- Strong communication and teamwork skills as well as a high level of problem-solving orientation
