PURPOSE
Formulate and implement the distribution strategy in Asia through a network of distributors that have the right competency and strategic fit with Animal Nutrition long term business vision and strategy.
The distribution business strategy will be part of the APAC sales strategy and resource to achieve business goals which have aligned with the global Product Lines (Essential and Specialty) long term strategies.
This role involves:
Assessing, selecting the right channel partners
Setting and tracking distributors’ performance indicators
Collection of market intelligence through channel partners
Providing guidance to market price setting and distribution and direct customers’ indent contract management.
Co-host with channel partners for customers’ events, trade exhibition, technical seminars
RESPONSIBILITIES
Run the network of distributors and channel partners compliantly according to Evonik code of conduct and SO17 policy; from time to time professionally any portfolio or channel conflicts
Prepare distribution agreements in alignment with corporate and Legal counsels
Define attractive go-to-market approaches and implementation within Asia for both product lines of the Business Line as per the standard procedures
Harmonize and track of processes, expectations, targets for distributors for all the product lines – Essential Nutrition and Speciality Nutrition and ensure appropriate documentation
Evaluate of new and existing distribution partners from time to time according to MSG policies (e.g. via scorecards aligned with Corporate distribution requirements)
Coordinate the interactions of distributors with Evonik business team (global distributor management, Business Line/Product Line heads, sales/business managers, marketing etc.)
Daily management of distributors – target setting, performance review, performance management, annual evaluation, pricing/reporting and project pipeline management using the existing sales tools like CupSet and MSD
Serve as a check and balance for market prices between direct customers and distributors
Define of service levels and facilitate training (for distributors & their customers)
Potential territories involve are: Philippines, Indonesia, Pakistan, Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos
Number of distributors to manage: around 20 across Asia without China
REQUIREMENTS
Background in the field of distribution business, preferably with Feed or Amino Acids preferred
At least 10 years or more of proven sales experiences with direct customers or distributors
Contracts and pricing negotiation experience
Experience in handling, structuring & optimizing sales channels is preferred
Strong business acumen and good communication skills to work in a matrix structure
Good strategist, result-oriented and entrepreneurial attitude and behavior
Good to strong cultural knowledge of conducting business through distribution in ASEAN, Pakistan, ANZ, Japan and S Korea
Strong business ethics and compliance knowledge
