Responsibilities
- Independently perform occupational health duties with a focus on occupational medical examinations, pre-employment and fitness-for-work assessments, and occupational health services in accordance with DGUV regulations
- Conduct medical assessments and prepare fitness-for-work evaluations
- Support and manage phased return-to-work programs following long-term illness
- Participate in the Company Integration Management process (Betriebliches Eingliederungsmanagement, BEM)
- Provide emergency medical care for employees in the event of accidents or medical emergencies
- Develop and implement medical emergency response plans in alignment with site-specific emergency procedures
- Provide professional oversight of first aid and emergency rescue services
- Advise operational departments on medical and toxicological matters
- Consider occupational health aspects during workplace risk assessments
- Serve as the primary medical contact for the Employers' Liability Insurance Association (BG) and regulatory authorities
- Ensure legally compliant medical documentation and record retention
- Participate in the company’s emergency medical response service
- Take part in on-call duty as part of emergency management and the plant crisis management team
Requirements
- Board-certified specialist in Occupational Medicine, or eligibility to complete specialist training in Occupational Medicine
- Ideally, an additional medical specialty related to acute patient care (e.g., General Practice, Internal Medicine, Surgery/Trauma Surgery, or Anesthesiology)
- Ideally, additional certification in Emergency Medicine and experience in emergency medical services (EMS)
- Excellent German language skills; good English language skills are an advantage
- Strong communication skills, ability to work effectively in a team, and a high degree of self-organization
