Evonik’s HYDREX® P silicate offers high values in white paper and board applications. The product improves optical properties and bulk of the sheet which offers the possibility of lightweighting while maintaining the required quality properties. HYDREX® P provides an option for 2 - 4 g/m2 weight reduction in white packing boards. Lightweighting improves the sustainability of cardboard production by lowering total energy consumption by a minimum of 5%. This is a relevant factor further down the value chain, because less packaging weight helps customers reduce the transport carbon footprint of their products.
