At the Darmstadt site, sustainable products are created that make everyday life easier.

In 1909, Dr. Otto Röhm laid the foundation stone for Evonik's Darmstadt site. Today, around 1,500 people work here – including around 150 trainees and students. The Evonik Nutrition & Care, Specialty Additives, Smart Materials, and Technology & Infrastructure divisions operate on the 16-hectare site. Since 1969, the Darmstadt site has included the Weiterstadt site, which is about 2 kilometres away and covers almost 10 hectares.

The Smart Materials Division produces the ROHACELL® product in Darmstadt and offers its customers support in the field of application with several technical centers. The Oil Additives division, which is part of the Specialty Additives division, offers improved flow properties of lubricants with its oil additives under the VISCOPLEX® brand, produced in Weiterstadt. Under the umbrella of the Nutrition & Care division, the Health Care division offers products, technologies and services in the field of pharmaceutical polymers under the EUDRAGIT and RESOMER® brands.

The Technology & Infrastructure Division is the operator of the site and offers services in the areas of site management, technical service, logistics and energy & utilities.
