Structural adhesives with high bond strength are needed to meet the high requirements in the aerospace, transportation and automotive industry. The trend towards lightweight materials leads to an increased demand for structural adhesives, which are able to bond dissimilar materials such as steel, aluminum, thermoplastics and composite materials.
To increase the range of electric vehicles, manufacturers are reducing their weight. One measure: the EV-batteries are assembled using structural adhesives instead of mechanical fastening. The batteries must be reliably fixed so that they remain firmly in place even in the event of accidents and strong vibrations. Silane-based structural adhesives guarantee such a secure bond.
