Our offering includes raw materials for TPU for reliably combining mulitple glass layers to safety glass.
When we encounter glass in everyday life, it is often coated on its surface. For example, glass bottles are usually covered with a polyethylene emulsion for a smoother surface. This prevents scratches or cracks during filling. The same applies to flat glass: windowpanes are often surface-modified to make them stronger or to enable mirroring. This step is particularly beneficial for sustainability, as it increases the durability of the glass.
Wherever such surface treatments are required, silanes like DYNASYLAN® are typically used first. On the inorganic surface of the glass, reactive groups form a permanent chemical bond with the silanes. This silane modification enables the glass surface to interact durably with organic materials and to be more scratch resistant, a very welcome feature in everyday use.
