Evonik opened its first office in Thailand in 1989 and has since established a presence across various industries. Today, Evonik operates a sales office in Bangkok and two production sites in Rayong and Saraburi.
In Map Ta Phut, Rayong, Evonik expanded its production site for precipitated silica, a joint venture between Evonik Industries and Oriental Siam Company. The expansion strengthens supply to the automotive, food and animal feed, and paints and coatings industries.
Evonik further strengthened its hydrogen peroxide and peracetic acid specialties business in Asia Pacific through the full acquisition of Thai Peroxide Company Limited (TPL) in 2023. The acquisition expanded Evonik’s offering of specialty-grade hydrogen peroxide and peracetic acid in the fast-growing Asia Pacific market.
