The Challenge
Suspension Concentrates (SC) are water-based formulations where particles of active ingredients are suspended and stabilized. Associative thickeners are widely used but are not as efficient in formulations with high salt concentrations, where fertilizer compatibility is needed, or with high concentrations of active ingredients. Evonik’s AEROXIDE® fumed alumina offers the agrochemical industry an effective, smart solution.

AEROXIDE® improves the suspension of powders in plant care formulations: AEROSIL® 200 fumed hydrophilic silica combined with AEROXIDE® Alu C fumed alumina provides a good thickening effect.
The recommended ratio between AEROSIL® 200 and AEROXIDE® Alu C is 10:1 to 5:1.
